Kuwait’s Longest Flag in the World
Posted by: Mona
Just read in the news that there was a trial run of unfurling the longest flag in the world in the Abdullah Al-Mubarak area yesterday. Apparently, Farwaniya Educational Zone has made a 2000 meter long Kuwaiti flag which is the the longest flag in the world by far and they will be reporting it to the Guiness Book of World Records since it’s one of Kuwait’s great achievements.
The flag was supposed to be officially unfurled on the Qaruh island for the National Day and Liberation Day celebrations but they have decided to hold the official ceremony during the military parade in Subiya area.
This achievement was through the efforts and assistance of the Farwaniya Educational Zone, the Volunteer Work Center and the students of Fatima Bin Quais Primary School.
Sheikha Amthal Al-Sabah, President of the Volunteer Work Center, Governor of Farwaniya Maj. Gen. Abdulhameed Al-Hajji, Director of Farwaniya Educational Zone Yusri Al-Omar and many Kuwaiti citizens attended the event.
