Kuwait in True Blood

Posted by:

This week’s episode of True Blood mentioned that a Tru-Blood bottling plant gets blown up in Kuwait!

“Two more explosions at Tru-Blood factories in Japan and Kuwait”

Whoops! Vampires and a Tru-Blood factory in Kuwait? Won’t that be interesting now… ;)

Fall TV shows are here

Posted by:

Summer’s over and now it’s time for the Fall TV shows. Whenever Hash & I could squeeze in some free time, here’s what we were watching over the summer:

  • Suits
  • Thundercats
  • True Blood
  • Warehouse 13
  • How I Met Your Mother (previous seasons to fill in the gaps while waiting for new episodes)

There are some good shows we missed out on and heard a lot about, so I’ll be downloading those to watch later on:

  • Eureka
  • Falling Skies
  • Franklin & Bash
  • White Collar

And now I’m really looking forward to the Fall TV shows that will be returning this season and probably check out some of the new ones coming up:

  • 90210
  • Gossip Girl
  • How I Met Your Mother
  • The Good Wife
  • Ringer – Sarah Michelle Gellar’s back as twins with someone trying to kill both of them.
  • Revenge – Emily goes undercover into Hamptons high society to take down the rich folks who wronged her and her father years before.

[Here] is the Fall Schedule for the new and returning TV shows.

Thundercats 2011

Posted by:

Thundercats are back and feels like we’re kids again! The show premiered last Friday and I didn’t know about it until a couple of days ago. I like how the new series start from the beginning with King Claudus passing on the throne and the Sword of Omens to young Lion-O and the whole background on Thundera. There are a few things that kind of took away from the original series – the new Japanese anime-style look of the characters and the missing intro soundtrack.

The cool part is that King Claudus is voiced by Larry Kenney, the same person who did the original Lion-O voice from the 1985 series. The show airs every Friday on Cartoon Network. Don’t miss it!

Besides all the good food and late night shopping, one of the best parts about Ramadan in Kuwait is the TV commercials and they just keep getting better every year. These are some of my favorites for this year.

Samsung SMART TV launched in Kuwait

Posted by:

I was reading through the Kuwait Times and spotted this article that the Samsung Smart TV was launched in Kuwait yesterday by Samsung Gulf Electronics and Al Andalus Trading Company. The TV has some pretty cool features where you can browse the internet, download apps and even connect with friends on social media networks while watching the same TV shows or even play Poker plus a host of other options. The remote control also doubles as a QWERTY keyboard. It’s like an all-in-one ultimate product that tops the smart phones and tablet computers.

The Smart TV is available in 32″, 40″, 46″ and 55″. The prices were not mentioned in the article, for that I’ll have to stop by and find out more.

Check out all the features on their official [Website] and Facebook [Page].

Update: Average price per unit is KD400.
