2011 Hasten Road Rally in Kuwait

Posted by:

The Hasten Road Rally will be taking place on 3rd December starting from the Marina Waves in Kuwait across all GCC countries all the way to Abu Dhabi. It’s not a race and the challenge is mainly for two people in ordinary cars as a rally team to drive normally on public roads and arrive at points along the route. It’s all about planning the perfect route and not the speed or car you drive. The first one to reach the hotel will be the winner.

This year so far the event has already taken place in London, Yokohama, Sao Paolo and Detroit and only Kuwait and Santorini now remain.

There have been a lot of parkour and free running teams coming up in Kuwait lately and PK Jaguars was one of them who competed at the Arabs Got Talent last year. The event is going to be on October 21st so watch out for any updates on this. This is going to be an event that’s not to be missed!

Was Azkals goalkeeper lasered in Kuwait?

Posted by:

There is a bit of confusion going on about the Azkals goalkeeper being lasered in Kuwait. It’s being said that a Kuwaiti fan was directing a laser pointer at the Azkals goalkeeper Neil Etheridge to distract his vision. The image above looks like it could have been photoshopped and besides how come the goalkeeper didn’t complain about it right then?

Read more about it [Here], [Here] and [Here].

London 2012 Olympic torch design

Posted by:

The final design for the London 2012 Olympic torch was unveiled at the St. Pancras Station on June 8th by the The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG).

The torch is designed by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby of the East London-based design studio BarberOsgerby and is shaped into a curved triangular aluminium tube which has a lace-like mesh complete with 8,000 holes, one to represent each torchbearer. The triangular shape symbolises the three times that London has staged the Games – 1908, 1948 and 2012.

The 70-day Olympic Torch Relay will take the Olympic Flame on an 8,000 mile journey across the UK carried by 8,000 torchbearers starting at Land’s End in Cornwall on May 19, 2012.

Ice Hockey Asian Cup in Kuwait?

Posted by:

The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Asian Challenge Cup will be held in Kuwait next week from April 24th–30th. The countries participating in the tournament are Kuwait, UAE, Hong Kong, India, Macau and Thailand.

I had no idea Kuwait has an ice hockey team and that an official tournament is being held here. It’s obviously going to be at the Ice Skating Rink but I will have to get more info on that. Does anyone know more about this?
