We received an email about a new Mexican restaurant that will be opening by the end of February in The Village. The restaurant is owned by a Mexican lady and the chef is also a native with 12 years experience throughout Mexico so the food is definitely going to be the real deal. Read the full post [Here].

From the reviews I’ve heard about all the good places that have opened up in The Village, it is probably one of the best places to hang out in this weather. We haven’t visited it yet and now that I’m stuck with the flu, looks like it’s gonna take a while.

Spotted FreshBerry, a new FroYo place opening soon in Burj Al-Babtain behind the Amiri Hospital. From the looks of the pictures, it looks quite tempting.

They’ve got their frozen yogurts in All Natural FreshBerry Tart, Decadent Dark Chocolate, No Sugar Added Vanilla, and Classic Strawberry flavors. Two other items include Smoothies and their signature frozen yogurt popsicles called Fresh Pops, which would definitely become my personal favorites! Besides, all their yogurts, smoothies and freshpops contain live & active cultures and are gluten free.

They are due to open either this month or next.

Just found out that Millions of Milkshakes will be opening up their branches in Kuwait and Qatar in September this year. And none other than Kim Kardashian will be coming for the launch. I’m guessing it will most likely be at The Avenues Mall and we’ll have to brace ourselves for some major pandemonium while she’s here. I wish they would bring someone else.. anyone but Kim!

While I was compiling my list of places to celebrate New Year in Kuwait, I noticed that some of the hotels and restaurants are still applying the service charge. According to KUNA, the Ministry of Commerce has banned service charge and minimum charge at restaurants and cafes in Kuwait since a few months now but looks like it hasn’t come into full effect yet.

Architecture of Kuwait just posted a few pictures on the design elements of ubon Thai restaurant, designed by Rashed Alfoudari, that’s opening soon in Salhiya area. The look and feel of the interior is très chic with the burnt black wood panels and a hint of copper in the pendant lamps and wall frames adding the oriental touch.

By the looks of it, ubon will most likely become a popular spot for Thai cuisine and I wonder if the seating area will be enough. Now we just have to wait and find out how the taste compares to the looks.
