I came across this funny bit of news on Arab Times today.

“Police have arrested a Syrian man for impersonating police, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. The arrest came when the Syrian went to the Rumaithiya Police Station, introduced himself as 1st lieutenant and sought the release of a person who was in police custody. The officer on duty who knew all his colleagues who graduated in the same batch from the Police Academy suspected the behavior of the Syrian and asked him some questions related to police affairs. The Syrian turned out to be a roadside watermelon seller.”

All I can say is this dude’s got balls the size of watermelons!

Just found out that the Hooters Girls are heading out (or probably already here) to visit thousands of troops stationed in Iraq & Kuwait. Their Facebook page had this news posted on 6th December and here is what they wrote:

“4 Hooters Girls from around the country are heading out today to visit thousands of troops stationed in Iraq & Kuwait next week.  Hooters partnered with Pro Sports MVP to coordinate the tour alongside country music band BrokeDown Cadillac who will be performing during a 10-day morale, welfare and recreation tour.”

Are you serious?!

I just got an email from Radisson Blu Kuwait that the hotel is going under a major redevelopment from 22nd December. They will be reopening in 2012 with a  very modern design and concept and from the looks of the photos I think it’s pretty impressive. It was about time that they remodeled because it really looked worn down the last time I was there which was over a year ago, but the new concept seems beyond expectations.

The Al Hashemi II  as well as the Rangoli and Al Boom Restaurants will still be open though, and the Viking Club will also all be accessible throughout the redevelopment.
