Why so many Horror flicks in the month of Love?

Posted by:

Cinescape has a bunch of horror/thriller movies going on and lined up for the rest of February. All this horror and no romance in the month of love? I guess not a lot of people have the ‘dinner-and-a-movie’ date anymore. Or probably a horror movie does the trick for the man to show some valor ;)

Now Showing:

The Devil Inside [Trailer]

Releasing on Feb 16th:

Amphibious [Trailer]
Dream House [Trailer]
The Woman in Black [Trailer]

Releasing on Feb 25th:

Cinescape Gift Vouchers

Posted by:

Cinescape has come up with their very own Gift Vouchers, more like Gift Cards. And not one, but four different types for each of their cinema experiences:

Classic – KD6 | Digital – KD7 | IMAX – KD8 | VIP – KD12

Each card admits two persons and can be a nice gift for anyone or any occasion. They are available at all of their locations so go ahead and surprise someone. I wonder if you can pre-book a movie with them before giving it as a gift, a movie someone has been waiting for perhaps. Now that would be a good surprise.

I like how more businesses are coming up with gift cards and vouchers, it kind of makes it easy to give someone a voucher they could use to buy something of their own liking. I still love getting presents though, it’s a whole different experience receiving pretty wrapped presents and wondering what’s inside till the time comes to actually open them and get all excited. But I don’t mind gift envelopes either! Either way, they’re both fun.

Twilight Movie Night with Crumbs

Posted by:

This time I won the Crumbs’ Twilight Movie Night competition! Last time it was Hash who got it for Harry Potter. My sisters and I had been waiting so long for Cinescape to release Breaking Dawn so you can imagine my excitement when I saw my name on the winners list for 3 tickets to the Movie Night with Crumbs, it was a sister’s night out all right!

The Movie Night was on Dec 29th at the 360 Mall VIP Cinema. We arrived fifteen minutes earlier and got our tickets from the lovely Aseel Al-Turkait when she handed us a big bag of Crumbs’ yummy goodies! We grabbed our usual nachos and popcorn and headed straight in.

All I can say about the movie is that it was badly chopped up. The story on the other hand was not as enjoyable or watchable as the previous parts. Bella’s character is dry as ever, Edward continues to sulk even more, Jacob seemed like the only thing alive in the movie, literally. Daily Mail’s review of this movie says it all.

All in all it was fun to hang out with my sisters and enjoy the Crumbs’ Movie Night hosted by the lovely ladies, Arwa & Aseel and the darling little Lulu. Thank you so much ladies and Crumbs!

H&M gets ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’ look

Posted by:

Now this is one collection that I’d love to own each piece of! H&M teamed up with the costume designer for the new ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’ movie, Trish Summerville, to create a fashionable version of Lisbeth Salander’s dark edgy look. So there’s going to be ‘leather jackets and trousers, torn jeans and slouchy hoodies in industrial shades of black, grey, worn white or dark red’. The collection will have an exclusive debut at the boutique Colette in Paris on 28th November and will then be available in stores worldwide on 14th December.

Hash & I loved the original movie that was dubbed in English and Lisbeth’s character, and now the David Fincher’s version comes out on December 26th. Roonie Mara got a whole new makeover for this movie but we personally prefer Noomi Rapace’s look from the 2009 version.

For those who are not already following the site, go to Mouth Taped Shut which is like an insider production blog of the new movie to engage the audience.
