The French Institute of Kuwait have organized their first concert this year – Electro Oud Concert By Smadj (Oud – Electro) featuring Eric Gaulthier (Clarinette) & Orhan Osman (Bouzouki). Here’s one of their performances on [YouTube]. Sounds interesting.

We received an email about a new Mexican restaurant that will be opening by the end of February in The Village. The restaurant is owned by a Mexican lady and the chef is also a native with 12 years experience throughout Mexico so the food is definitely going to be the real deal. Read the full post [Here].

From the reviews I’ve heard about all the good places that have opened up in The Village, it is probably one of the best places to hang out in this weather. We haven’t visited it yet and now that I’m stuck with the flu, looks like it’s gonna take a while.

Spotted FreshBerry, a new FroYo place opening soon in Burj Al-Babtain behind the Amiri Hospital. From the looks of the pictures, it looks quite tempting.

They’ve got their frozen yogurts in All Natural FreshBerry Tart, Decadent Dark Chocolate, No Sugar Added Vanilla, and Classic Strawberry flavors. Two other items include Smoothies and their signature frozen yogurt popsicles called Fresh Pops, which would definitely become my personal favorites! Besides, all their yogurts, smoothies and freshpops contain live & active cultures and are gluten free.

They are due to open either this month or next.

Kuwait had their very first flash mob by Zain at the Avenues Mall yesterday, most likely as part of the Hala February celebrations. Too bad we missed it, we had just entered when it happened so we didn’t have a clue what was going on. All I saw was a confetti covered mall few minutes later. I saw this video on Blogyac and apparently the LAPA dancers and musicians were a part of this performance.

I’ve seen videos of better flash mobs in Dubai and elsewhere, but this was a good first effort. Hope we get to see more and better ones sometime.

Cinemagic have their monthly rooftop movie schedule going on for February in spite of the weather being so unstable lately with extreme cold, rain, wind and now dust. Hope nothing disrupts the movie screenings!

This year the Hala February festival will be starting on Saturday, Feb 4th with their annual carnival on Salem Al Mubarak Street in Salmiya. Like every year, they have planned a lot of activities, events and shopping bargains for everyone which will go on till Feb 29th. I will try to get a schedule of all their events and update it here.

Pizza Hut will be making the largest Kuwaiti flag shaped pizza this Saturday on Feb 4th on Salem Al-Mubarak Street at 3pm for the Hala February festival launch.

I guess another Guinness World Record is on the way.

Tomorrow are Kuwait’s parliamentary elections so let’s hope everyone votes and does their part in selecting a government that will resolve all the past issues and lead the country on the path of change, improvement and success.
