The Avenues Mall will be holding contests every Thursday for their new Weekend Giveaway exclusively for their Facebook fans. The contests will start every Thursday and you have until Saturday to post your entry for a chance to win gifts, vouchers and more from many of their stores and brands. Winners will be announced, and will receive an email on the following Sunday so they need to bring a copy of that email to claim their prize.

The Al-Farsi family from Kuwait participated at the Bristol International Kite Festival to break their own record to fly the world’s biggest kite. Their kite is in the shape of a manta ray and is bigger than a full sized football pitch measuring 180 ft wide, 130 ft long with a 260ft tail. It had to fly in the air for 20 minutes to set the new record but unfortunately it tore yesterday within a minute. They were going to repair it last night to try again today, let’s hope they get successful.

Update: They called off the attempt to break the kite world record because it was too windy.

Here’s another contest (sort of) – Subway Arabia is asking its customers to create a signature sandwich that will be featured in the regional menu. You can either give your suggestions at any of the Subway restaurants or submit them online through their Facebook page or Website from 15th June – 30th July and win a free cookie when you buy your next sandwich.

They will make the final selection based on what appeals to the regional customers and the Signature Sub will be added to the menu. If you’ve got any great ideas, give it a shot.

Froobie has a new competition this summer called crEATe Froobie where the customers create their own combination of flavors and toppings and tweet it @Froobie_ for a chance to win a Froobie prize. Winners are selected weekly based on the number of “Likes” on their Facebook page.
