Last year IKEA Kuwait had held the Soft Toy Campaign to donate one euro from each Soft Toy sold to UNICEF and educational projects run by Save the Children.

This year they are planning to re-launch the campaign but this time they will donate to the Bayt Abdullah Children’s Hospice to help develop the organization’s overall process. The campaign will run from 1st November 1 to 24th December and will donate 1€ for every soft toy sold at its store to BACCH.

So don’t forget to stop by and pick up a cute cuddly toy from IKEA next time you visit the the Avenues Mall and do something worthwhile for a good cause.

Hayatt Breast Cancer Foundation is organizing a charity gala dinner to raise awareness for this cause, to fund the costs of chemotherapy treatments for cancer patients and to hopefully start a screening and early prevention procedure of breast cancer for women living in Kuwait (in collaboration with the Ministry of Health).

Dr. Jamie E. Terry, a renowned breast specialist from the Memorial Hermann Hospital, is traveling from the US to especially attend the charity gala and will also deliver a lecture to the audience. Famous singer Amal Maher will sing Oum Kulthoum songs to entertain the valued guests. A great event for a great cause.

IKEA will be hosting a lot of children’s activities to celebrate the International Ozone Preservation Day at their store in the Avenues from September 15th to 22nd.

The event is aimed at raising awareness about pollution and preserving the Earth’s Ozone. The activities will include board games for students and families as well as educational activities that help communicate keeping a healthy and clean environment, and understanding the importance of the ozone in people’s daily lives.

Backstage Metal released a Tribute album to Ronnie James Dio called “To Heaven Through Hell” which was put together by musicians from around the world, and three musicians from Kuwait are a part of it too. Check out the album credits [Here]. I know them all personally and they did a great job!

The Cancer Aware Nation “CAN” has launched a photography competition to raise awareness for cancer prevention through healthy food choices as the theme of the competition. The participants will have to focus on the quality and quantity of healthy food vs. unhealthy food as well as the healthy and unhealthy methods of cooking in their photographs.

Here’s another charity event coming up next Friday. The British Business Forum and The British Ladies Society have organized a Charity Fashion Show to support the Bayt Abdullah children’s hospice (BACCH), Kuwait and Breakthrough Breast Cancer, UK.

There is going to be a garden party, a catwalk show and an after-show party. You’ll find a wide range of beauty products and services including hair and makeup artists, nail bars, jewelry & fashion accessories etc. at the garden party during the day. The fashion show will start in the evening which will feature top designers from the UK and Kuwait. And then there’s the after-party with buffet dinner, music and dance.

The Body Shop is campaigning against human trafficking in all their stores across the world in partnership with ECPAT. I spotted this at their Marina Mall branch where they have placed a petition box and forms that anyone can sign to pledge their support and you turn the form over and trace your hand.
