New Kuwait Airport Design
Posted by: Mona
Here is the first look at the images of Kuwait Airport’s new design from Architecture of Kuwait. Looks like the new airport is going to be super massive compared to the current one, check out the enlarged [Image] of the top view which shows both the current and proposed airports.

Foster + Partners are the project designers of the new airport and I really like the simple and minimalist design.

Domino’s plans pizza on the Moon
Posted by: Mona
Domino’s Japan is planning to open the first pizza restaurant on the Moon. It’s going to cost them $21.7 billion for the whole project out of which $.73 billion will be required to transport 70 tons of construction materials and pizza-making equipment to the moon aboard 15 rockets. Check out the introductory video announcing the plan which looks more like a crazy marketing stunt that probably triggered from their rival Pizza Hut when they became the first company in history to deliver pizza to outer space back in 2001.

Jackie Chan Museum
Posted by: Mona
Here’s something for all the Jackie Chan fans – The Jackie Chan Museum will be opening soon in Shanghai later this year. Besides a gallery of his four-decade movie career displaying movie costumes, props and posters, the museum will also have an Avenue of Stars, a gallery for movie art, a four-story Italian restaurant and Chan’s own movie studio as well.
The museum has been under construction since three years and is built inside a revamped factory in the Changfend Ecological Business District (CEBD) in the Putuo district of Shanghai.
Well if any action hero ever deserved their own museum, it most definitely would be Jackie Chan.

Kuwait’s new kite record attempt failed
Posted by: MonaThe Al-Farsi family from Kuwait participated at the Bristol International Kite Festival to break their own record to fly the world’s biggest kite. Their kite is in the shape of a manta ray and is bigger than a full sized football pitch measuring 180 ft wide, 130 ft long with a 260ft tail. It had to fly in the air for 20 minutes to set the new record but unfortunately it tore yesterday within a minute. They were going to repair it last night to try again today, let’s hope they get successful.
Update: They called off the attempt to break the kite world record because it was too windy.
Red Bull Art of Motion
Posted by: Mona
Red Bull Art of Motion is coming to Kuwait and the Middle East for the first time. The event features an amazing blend of free running, parkour, martial arts and gymnastics. This year so far the event has already taken place in London, Yokohama, Sao Paolo and Detroit and only Kuwait and Santorini now remain.
There have been a lot of parkour and free running teams coming up in Kuwait lately and PK Jaguars was one of them who competed at the Arabs Got Talent last year. The event is going to be on October 21st so watch out for any updates on this. This is going to be an event that’s not to be missed!

Solar Powered Government Buildings
Posted by: Mona
I just read on BananaQ8 that the Ministry of Electricity and Water will be installing solar panels on the roof of government building to utilize solar power instead of regular electricity which will help save 10% of the power consumption.
We had posted about a solar powered traffic monitor earlier and now this seems to be a good start in the right direction. If more people and organizations begin to use solar power for their homes and companies it can make a big difference on the whole.
Safari-style zoo coming up in Kuwait
Posted by: Mona
I was surprised to read in the news that the Public Authority for Agriculture and Fish Resources (PAAFR) are planning to build a safari-style zoo in Jahra. It’s about time they realized that the Omariya zoo is extremely old fashioned and in a terrible state. They’re still studying the best layout for the new safari zoo though but it will be sixteen times the size of the current one and like a drive-thru safari adventure where the animals will roam freely and you will be able to explore through it by car or specially designed trains. They are even planning to turn the old place into an aquarium or an insect zoo probably.
Hope this project turns out as interesting as it sounds and goes through soon enough.
