$11m Christmas Tree
Posted by: Hash
The Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi has put up the most expensive Christmas tree this year worth US $11 Million decorated with bracelets, necklaces and watches!
“It holds a total of 181 diamonds, pearls, emeralds, sapphires and other precious stones according to Khalifa Khouri, owner of Style Gallery which provided the jewellery.”
Apparently the Hotel’s clever marketing team came up with this idea and now they got the whole world talking about it. They are even trying to get a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records. First they had the gold vending machine and now this, I wonder whats next!

Only in Kuwait! “Fake cop nabbed”
Posted by: Hash
I came across this funny bit of news on Arab Times today.
“Police have arrested a Syrian man for impersonating police, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. The arrest came when the Syrian went to the Rumaithiya Police Station, introduced himself as 1st lieutenant and sought the release of a person who was in police custody. The officer on duty who knew all his colleagues who graduated in the same batch from the Police Academy suspected the behavior of the Syrian and asked him some questions related to police affairs. The Syrian turned out to be a roadside watermelon seller.”
All I can say is this dude’s got balls the size of watermelons!

“4 Hooters Girls from around the country are heading out today to visit thousands of troops stationed in Iraq & Kuwait next week. Hooters partnered with Pro Sports MVP to coordinate the tour alongside country music band BrokeDown Cadillac who will be performing during a 10-day morale, welfare and recreation tour.”

Step Up 3D

So lastnite I watched Step Up 3D and to my expectation the movie was as good (dance wise) as I predicted. If you dig for great storyline then I would say this movie has very less to offer. They used the term BFAB (Born from a boombox) that referred to the natural born dancers and that was freakin cheesy and unnecessary.
One of the scene that really cracked me up was Camille dressed up as one of the Olsen Twins for Halloween Costume party and she had an empty Starbucks coffee cup as part of the costume, that was priceless.
Overall it was an OK movie to kill time with satisfying dance scenes.
